Freight Train Derails in Central New York
Two passing freight trains were involved in an early morning derailment Saturday that left 25 cars off the track and the rails closed for at least 24 hours, authorities said. A single car began to derail as the trains passed Little Falls at 5:20 a.m., CSX spokesperson Misty Skipper said. As the car lost its grip on the track, it took other cars from its train off with it.
