Jul 19 SunRISE in Kansas : 30 minutes LATE
At 6:17 I got up and looked out side to see a very pink, orange and coral sunrise. The sun was only 5-10 degrees above the horizon. However, this is a guess, and to clarifiy it was barely above the horizion with little sky between it and the horizon. My Farmers Almanac book has a published sunrise time of 5:25. Sure seems to me that the sun should of been higher than that. I have watched the sun rise many times before and once it clears the horizion it moves enough that you can check every five - ten minutes to see that it is moving and making progress. This certainly does not seem the case today. Here's my report for what it is worth. Sorry I can't give an exact time of sunrise but I would say that sunrise seems at least 30 minutes late, considering the time was 52 minutes past sunrise when I checked.
