- Sources of Shock Proof Products designed to
survive shocks. May be industrial strength products or
meeting military specifications, etc. Assumed also to be
appropriately padded during a massive earthquake, but
nevertheless jolted.
- Sources for Maintainable Products - those that
will also be durable enough to withstand earthquakes and
dampness, but most importantly are easily repaired with
parts that can be manufactured by the average person with
materials at hand.
- Mold Control - a problem facing indoor gardeners
in damp, gloomy weather will be mold and fungus, and
commercial chemical controls will probably be
unavailable.
- Exploration of Foxfire Solutions - the book series
Foxfire, on the Troubled Times recommended reading list,
contains explicit instructions on how our folks in
Appalachia lived a century ago, during simpler times.
Applicable solution-bits presented in the book could be
packaged for the web, with proper credits given to the
authors and publisher, of course. Some Foxfire solutions,
i.e. soap making, spinning and weaving, and drying
vegetables, have already been located and packaged for
the Troubled Times pages.
- Troubled Times content available via ftp Download.
This should be by major topic - food, energy, health,
shelter, etc. The ftp material needs to be Troubled Times
pages with the hypertext commands removed. Requires
periodic maintenance, as the material keeps growing with
the linking pages in particular under constant change.
Should include instructions for users, and a note
reminding them that they can just print pages off the
screen with their browsers, and using this method they
get the graphics too.
- Permaculture Tips in an abreviated list to add to
the list already begun for the Food page. These tips
should be appropriate for Aftertime living circumstances.
